ABATIS
II:
The Mound
is a new game from a popular series of puzzle-games
for a single player. The goal of this game is
to gain scores in the process of clearing out
the mound of bricks. You add bricks to the mound
from above, below and from sides so that they
form blocks of three and more similar bricks.
These blocks will eliminate themselves and the
mound will be cleared out. |
The
game requires your skill to contrive the moves and foresee
the development of the situation on the board and just
a little bit of luck. The game teems with the variety
of possible tactic approaches and strategic methodic,
that can be used for achieving success. The presence
of "gravity" and special moves: side throw,
which enables you to place a necessary brick even in
the most inaccessible place, and a lift - the move which
enables you to raise the whole column of bricks and
change the situation on the board in a moment. This
makes our game incredibly interesting. The situation
on the board changes quickly - sometimes you have to
make tens of seemingly unnecessary moves, piling the
mound with various bricks, for you to be able to make
a necessary move. However sometimes an efficient move,
made at the end of a breathtaking combination, may cause
chain reaction of the elimination of blocks and the
board will be cleared almost completely.
As
it's almost impossible to tear yourself away from the
game, its design is especially oriented towards a long-lasting
game. It's been created exclusively for PDA and it uses
all the advantages and the convenient way of operating
such kind of a device. The game possesses intuitively
comprehensible interface, powerful system of collecting
statistics, High Score table and help system. As the
game's tactics is formed by the combinations of many
moves, there's a unique possibility, hardly available
in any other game, to revert not just on one but on
several moves at once, it helps to correct not only
those wrong moves which have been made involuntarily,
but ordinary logic mistakes of yours as well. However
this doesn't make the game simple or easy.
There
are three types of the game present here. They have
slight differences in their rules but they require completely
different tactics and strategic methods from the player.
The possibility to choose both the number of bricks'
coloring and the range, as well as the scheme of changing
the number of colors used, enable the player to vary
the game's complexity. This makes our game unbelievably
interesting and after you successfully go through one
level, you can't resist the temptation to proceed to
the next one.
When
you choose game parameters, you can set them not only
according to your skills but to your present mood as
well. You choose few bricks' colorings, and you easily
go through some ten or even more levels, staying relaxed
and even bored a bit, wondering how smart you're being
today doing so easy away with incredible abatises and
mounds of bricks. If you choose a harder variant, you'll
have to concentrate on how to deal with super-complicated
puzzles, and every level passed will equal to the victory
of some famous commander. But real commanders also need
the possibility to relax, enjoying interesting and leisurely
victories. You'll
have to train a lot to master the skills of setting
the parameters convenient particularly for you, but
it's not the problem, you start from the easiest and
then - you'll see yourself.
The
main thing here is that playing our game you train your
logics and strategic skills, that helps you to become
a real dab hand in this area.
